Pre-flight Shenanigans

Hello people! I knowww, I've really gotta stop starting every post with "Sorry I haven't been posting for awhile", gotta get that laziness in check and actually start writing some stuff! Until today, I sort of forgotten that I had a blog? Lol yesss what's wrong with you Mav! Anyway, I'm blogging all the way from JAPAN! Tokyo to be more specific. :D

You may wonder why am I in Japan, or why am I here again so soon when I've only just been here in the middle of December 2015. Well, as I would say; if the weather in Malaysia is too hot, fly to Japan! But seriously guys, being in Malaysia right now is like being in a hot oven, roasting me to crispy perfection. I would choose the 10+ degrees of Japan over and over again with no regrets.

As you may know, it's currently the start of Spring here and I think that everybody knows what this means in Japan — SAKURAS aka Cherry Blossoms! It has always been a dream of mine to experience this season as I've heard it's beautiful. Since I'm taking my gap months, I've decided why not come to Japan? Aaaand here I am!

It's has been exactly one month since my touchdown at Haneda International Airport. I remember waiting at the crowded immigration for my turn, while trying to connect to the airport wifi to no avail. If there's two things I don't like about Japan the most, it would be the difficulty to find wifi outside of your place of stay and also to find a Japanese that can actually speak understandable English. These two reasons prove to be quite a challenge but luckily my sister speaks Japanese so yeah she's the translator.

I will write about my adventures in Tokyo post by post, so follow my blog if you're interested! :)

5th May - Saturday
My flight was in the afternoon so I spent the morning packing my things. My mom and I went up to KL the night before so it was only an hour by car to the airport. So when I finished packing + chilling + Skyping with my boyfriend, I bid Ryan goodbye and good luck with his work trial and went on my way. The parking in KLIA2 was full and we had to take a few turns before we finally found one on the roof, under the sun. By the time I got out of the car, a pang of nausea hit me; I felt dizzy but I figured it's just the car ride. If you knew me, you would know that I get dizzy with basically any means of transportation. So that was normal.

The nausea stayed even until I entered the cold air-conditioned building. Once we reached the departure hall, there were sooooo many people omg! It wasn't a holiday so I thought it would be rather empty but boy was I wrong. I was flying alone for the first time that day, so the fear of that + "people mountain people sea" (I don't like crowded places) + the car ride; caused me to feel lightheaded and I almost fainted. I was like shivering, having cold sweats and couldn't feel my legs while lining up to check-in my baggage. My vision was fading as I remembered I had strong mints in my handbag so I quickly took it out and popped two into my mouth and it got better, so I kept popping mints until the nausea was controlled.
[Tips: Mentos Air Action is my holy grail mint! I've tried almost every mint before, it's like my hobby. It's the strongest one for now, it helps with basically anything. *Disclaimer, it might be too strong for some people; my friend Justin said I deliberately tried to kill him by giving him that mint haha.]

After that, my mom brought me to The Loaf to get some bread then to Starbucks for hot chocolate to calm my nerves and pump sugar into my blood. Then it was time to board! A young man was sitting on my left side while an older woman on my right. She was a punk ass chick at heart, with leather jackets, acid washed jeans, sparkly bag and the fact that I saw her purple lacey thong ride up when she put her bags on the overhead compartment. Haha I will never forget that. I wasn't like stalking or anything okay guysss I'm just really observant. :3

The flight was BORING. I'm not the kind of person that sleeps alot (ahem Ryan) :p and there were no games on my phone, sooooo I spent my time staring at the ceiling of the plane and eating my Froot Loops hehe. After those excruciatingly boring 7 hours, the plane finally landed! You have no idea how happy I was to get out of there. Went through immigration, got my baggage; my dad was waiting for me downstairs and my sister was waiting for me at home. It was already close to 12am when I reached home so that's it for today!

Thank you cute Starbucks guy for the smiley face! :)
You definitely made my day slightly better
